As a Magento partner we look forward to Magento Imagine every year and this year we have something special we’re excited to announce at their flagship event at the Wynn Las Vegas on April 3-5.     Having first hand experience with a fraudster recently was a shock but eye opening. I was excited to get a message that x4 bags have been purchased in one transaction from my online store on Shopify. i could not wait to explore the order so that I can dispatch it as the payment had already been done. To my horror when I accessed the order page, there was a big red flag warning of a risk that the transaction highly likely to be fraudulent.
    The heightened risk was based on the facts that the credit card used was registered in Australia and yet the purchase was made in Indonesia and the delivery address was in Indonesia. The other concern was that 4 bags were purchased at the same time. Under normal circumstance, you would not buy that quantity even if it was for a present.It is a good thing that Shopify site was able to highlight this, otherwise, I would have processed the purchase as it was my first..
    On contacting Shopify to seek support on how to deal with this type of suspicious order, the advise was to seriously analyse the risk issues highlighted before making a choice of supplying the order.
    Advise was to send an email to the customer to seek clarification with regards to the discrepancies detected but I have not received any response as yet.
    I have saved my company from being mugged. Thanks to the warning integrated in Shopify
