So, yeah, we’re bragging a little, although the truth is, winning the award, presented by the Silicon Valley Business Journal and the San Francisco Business Times, is a team effort that actually extends even beyond Signifyd’s employees.

One of the hardest challenges for a growing company is to nurture a meaningful corporate culture as its number of employees expands, sometimes at a dizzying pace. The company mission and values are no longer passed directly from founders to employees. New perspectives and, by necessity, new ways of doing business are introduced along the way.

Ramanand and Michael Liberty, veterans of FedEx and PayPal, founded the company in 2011, with the mission of helping online merchants grow without the fear of fraud.

The company uses algorithms and human intelligence to sift fraudulent online orders from legitimate ones in milliseconds. And it provides a 100 percent financial guarantee for any order it approves that later turns out to be fraudulent.
Transparency helps build a winning culture
The Business Journal and Business Times were impressed by Signifyd’s commitment to manager training, the roundtables held regularly with managers, the monthly all-hands meetings to discuss the company’s trajectory and Signifyd’s use of a goal-setting platform that makes the goals and objectives of the company, every team and every individual visible to every employee.
And, of course, it’s not inconsequential that Signifyd is serious about business, but understands there is more to life and to people.
