Online returns are an inevitability of ecommerce. Shoppers can’t see, touch, taste, smell, or experience the products they purchase online, but the assurance that they can return those items – and be fully refunded – keeps them shopping for more.

However, a significant portion of online returns – 10.6%, according to the National Retail Federation – are abusive or fraudulent. Retailers don’t need to accept these as the cost of doing business online.
